It was determined by the Court that telephone operators and application stores suspend the distribution and access to Telegram this Wednesday, the 26th, for not sending the PF (Federal Police) data on groups suspected of attacks on schools within the platform. The measure must be complied with immediately.
On the 20th, Thursday, the Federal Court ordered Telegram to hand over data on groups and people suspected of planning attacks on schools. The application was given a deadline of 24 hours to deliver the information to the Federal Police “for security reasons”.
Telegram even delivered part of the data that was requested on Friday (21), but had not yet released the members' phone numbers.
According to the Federal Police Intelligence Directorate, operators Vivo, Tim and Oi will receive a letter regarding the suspension of the platform. The owners of the Play Store (Google) and Apple Store (Apple) application stores must also be notified.
The fine for not handing over data has also increased from R$ 100,000 to R$ 1 million per day. So far, Telegram has not demonstrated any statement regarding the matter.
