That technology makes long leaps forward is nothing new. Due to technical specifications, various smartphone models are often incompatible with some applications. An example of this is the messaging application Whatsapp, which constantly publishes a list of devices that lose support for the App.

Since Wednesday, February 1st, several smartphone models have stopped supporting WhatsApp. This happened due to the old version of the operating system running on the devices. In other words, its version is no longer compatible with the version required by the company.

In short, notification of the end of support for devices is linked to older operating systems. But after all, what happens to those who own these devices?

See below the list of 35 device models that stopped supporting WhatsApp in February/23:

My cell phone lost support for the app, what now?

If you have a cell phone model listed above, the question that remains is “what now?”. In short, although the devices will no longer receive new updates, the App will continue to work for now. That is, you will still be able to use the application.

However, the operating system version will no longer be supported. In other words, if WhatsApp releases an update, owners of these devices may lose access to the App.

Therefore, even if the app works for now, it is important to look for an alternative, newer phone so as not to lose access to the messaging app.
