Emergency Aid ended in October last year, but Dataprev still maintains the website used to consult retroactive installments of the benefit. Even though the program officially ended in 2021, the government is still releasing retroactive benefit amounts this year.

Emergency Aid was paid in 9 installments between April and December 2020 for more than 68 million Brazilians. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government decided in April last year to resume payment of the benefit and reduce the value and number of installments until October 2021.

However, in January 2022, the Ministry of Citizenship released retroactive installments of up to R$ 3 thousand for more than 800 thousand families. This time, only one group in particular had the right to receive it: single parents and heads of families.

For single parents, receiving the double quota was not guaranteed until the end of last year, after the National Congress reversed President Jair Bolsonaro's veto that prevented the payment of the extra amounts. Thus, this group had the amounts released

Emergency Aid Consultation remains open by Dataprev

Dataprev continues to keep its consultation page open. Beneficiaries who want to know if they are entitled to retroactive installments paid in 2022 can access and consult their CPF on the website: https://consultaauxilio.cidadania.gov.br/consulta/.

What changed was the way the consultation was carried out: until then, only the name, date of birth and mother's name were requested. Now the interested party needs to create a GOV account with login and password for the consultation.

In addition to information about the previous installments that the beneficiary received, the Dataprev portal also informs you whether you belong to the group of single parents who are entitled to the additional quota and how much will be received.

According to the Ministry of Citizenship, around 1.3 million male heads of families were selected to receive retroactive emergency aid. Of this group, 823 thousand received the deposit in January and another 400 thousand may still receive the money in the coming months.

How many installments will Emergency Aid have in 2022?

The value of the Emergency Aid installment in 2022 can be variable and reach a value of up to R$ 3 thousand. For those who received only 1 of the 5 installments in 2020, the additional amount paid is now R$ 600.

On the other hand, men and heads of families who received all installments of R$ 600 of emergency aid between April and August will now receive the amount of up to R$ 3,000 in the account in 2022.

The beneficiary entitled to retroactive payment of Emergency Aid will continue to receive the benefit in a digital savings account with Caixa Tem, as was the case with previous benefit payments. The withdrawal period is still 120 days.

The first round of transfers was carried out by Caixa on January 13th and involved a total of 823.4 thousand citizens. According to government estimates, 1.3 million single parents would benefit from the double quota in 2022, representing an investment of R$ 4.1 billion.
