The Ministry of Labor reported that more than 245,000 drivers will receive taxi assistance assistance from tomorrow. The fare is R$ 2,000 based on the months of July and August.

In this first layer, 245,213 taxi drivers will receive the benefit. To date, 300,771 drivers have been registered by city halls, but some are pending registration. The ministry estimates that a total of 333,000 taxi drivers will be eligible for the assistance.

Drivers who are not yet registered, whose registration has not been approved or whose data has not been communicated to the Ministry by City Hall can receive the benefit retroactively, as long as they are legalized by September 11th. The second payment will be made on August 30th.

If the total number of registered taxi drivers is higher than predicted by the government, the value of the last installments may be reduced, as the total established ceiling of R$ 2 billion is valid.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, José Carlos Oliveira, said today in a press conference on the subject that in the event of re-election the federal government intends to extend the payment: what depends on me and what depends on our president, I rest assured that We will work to ensure this advantage is maintained.

Asked if it still makes sense to pay this aid now that fuel prices have fallen, Oliveira said he thinks the situation remains serious. We must take further steps to reach the ideal level for the population.

How is the payment done? The benefit is paid through Caixa Tem, the same system used to pay emergency aid. Today, the taxi driver can access the application and check the advance payment of the benefit.

To transfer the money, you must confirm the eligibility requirement. This can be done via the app or at one of the Caixas branches.

Registration of truck drivers begins today Self-declaration for truck drivers to receive support also began today. The deadline for these professionals to request the benefit is August 29th, and payment of the first two installments will be made on September 6th.

Anyone who does not resolve the situation by that date will not be entitled to the two installments retroactively, but will still be able to receive the following installments.

The ministry explains that the truck driver must declare in the self-declaration that he meets the legal requirements to receive the service and is able to carry out road transport regularly.
