CadÚnico update can now be carried out via the internet and App

The new CadÚnico (Cadastro Único) website and application, launched this year, allows data to be updated via the Internet. The possibility of updating the Single Registry via cell phone was a highly requested demand from the families that make up the federal government's database.

Until then, data could only be updated in person at the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) or in the sector responsible for CadÚnico.

Updating CadÚnico data is mandatory so that the family can receive the social benefits offered by the government and must be carried out within a maximum period of 24 months, at most every 2 years.

CadÚnico is necessary for low-income families to have access to social programs: Auxílio Brasil, BPC (Continuous Payment Benefit), Gas Aid for Brazilians, Social Electricity Tariff, among other benefits.

Updated CadÚnico website

The CadÚnico consultation website has been modernized and now citizens must log in with a Gov.Br account to check information about benefits.

Previously, the platform only allowed consulting the Single Registry with the CPF number, full name and date of birth. See how to create a Gov.br account:

How to create a Gov.br account

  1. Access the portal Gov.br or download the Gov.br app and click on Create gov.br account;
  2. If you have a driver's license or facial biometrics registered with the Electoral Court, perform facial recognition through the application;
  3. If you don't have one, create an account by answering a short questionnaire and a Bronze level account will be created;
  4. Another way to create a Gov.br account is through accredited banks. In this case, the account will already be Gold or Silver level.

Now the same features of the CadÚnico App are available on the Meu CadÚnico website. The new platform is now live and allows easy and complete consultation of the registration, issuance of a receipt confirming the family's registration, updating the registration confirming the dates and nearest service stations.

Another new feature is the CadÚnico pre-registration service. With this option, families who are not yet registered in the Single Registry will be able to self-register through the application or website and will only need to visit CRAS for the additional assessment process.

According to the Ministry of Citizenship, the new resource will reduce queues and waiting times for assistance at the units, as families will arrive with pre-registration ready. After pre-registration, the responsible family member has 120 days to go to the service center to complete the registration with CadÚnico.

Update of CadÚnico through the Application

Updating CadÚnico is essential for registered families to receive Auxílio Brasil. This is because the Ministry of Citizenship carries out a monthly registration survey to check whether families participating in the program continue to meet the necessary criteria to be entitled to receive Auxílio Brasil.

The Citizenship Secretariat established a deadline of 24 months, but the Family Responsible Person (RF) must be aware that they must update the family register if the information provided at the time of registration changes:

  • Birth or death of a family member;
  • Departure of one of the members to another house;
  • Address change;
  • School enrollment or school transition of children;
  • Increase or decrease in income, among others.

Through the monthly review, the government identifies the families that will be part of the next payroll and excludes from the list of beneficiaries those who no longer comply with the program's rules.

Until then, to update CadÚnico data, the Family Responsible had to go to a CRAS unit to notify them of the change in information. With the new application, the person responsible for registration will only be able to update the information by confirming the data already registered in the application, without the need to schedule a personalized service.

The Cadastro Único application is free to download and is available for systems Android It is iOS.
