Caixa Econômica announced this week a pause in Bolsa Família payments in May. The payment calendar for this month started on 05/18.
Bolsa Família payments for the month of May began on Thursday, the 18th. As usual, payments always take place in the last ten working days of each month, releasing installments gradually following the final digit of the beneficiaries' NIS .
On Thursday (18) and Friday (19), beneficiaries who have final NIS 1 and 2, respectively, receive. However, the next groups must wait until next Monday, the 23rd, to receive the amounts in their account.
Caixa informed that it will temporarily pause the Bolsa Família payment schedule at the weekend. The news may seem unusual to some beneficiaries, but this is a usual practice carried out by the institution, related to opening hours that are limited to working days.
Bolsa Família beneficiaries who have already had their funds deposited by the end of this week can transfer the amounts through Caixa Tem's Social Digital Savings, or make withdrawals at electronic terminals or at lottery outlets.
Who can receive the benefit?
Families with a per capita monthly income (per person) of up to R$ 218 can receive the benefit. In other words, the combined income of all family members divided by the number of people must be less than R$ 218.
Families must meet some requirements related to health and education. See below:
- Prenatal follow-up;
- The national vaccination calendar must be up to date;
- Monitoring the nutritional status of children under the age of 7;
- Minimum school attendance of 60% for children aged 4 and 5, and 75% for beneficiaries aged 6 to 18 who have not completed basic education;
- The family must keep their CadÚnico (Cadastro Único) data up to date.
