Last Monday, the 20th, Wellington Dias, Minister of Social Development, stated that the government will advance the payment of Bolsa Família to a group of beneficiaries. We are talking about families who were hit by heavy rains on the coast of São Paulo (SP).
These families must receive the unified payment on the same date, regardless of the final NIS number. According to the minister “To make it easier for families, March payments will be unified, made on the 20th for all families in affected municipalities and with an emergency and calamity decree”.
In which cities will Bolsa Família be brought forward?
To date, 6 cities have a public calamity decree in force. Therefore, the ministry is in direct contact with the municipalities that have declared a state of emergency or calamity. In addition, it is carrying out procedures to pay Bolsa Família in a flexible manner.
To date, the Federal Government has announced the recognition of public calamity in 6 municipalities in São Paulo, namely:
- Guarujá;
- Bertioga;
- Caraguatatuba;
- Beautiful island;
- San Sebastian;
- Ubatuba.
Faced with the tragedy, the Federal Government established a task force involving several ministries. The objective is clear: to provide emergency actions to the population affected by the rains on the north coast of São Paulo.
According to Minister Dias, “I have now reached an agreement with Brigadier Heraldo to enable aircraft to transport, from the capital São Paulo to São Sebastião and the region, food, mattresses, sheets, diapers and drinking water, acquired in partnership between MDS and CUFA (Central Única das Favelas ).
Furthermore, it is worth highlighting that in addition to participating in the payment of Bolsa Família, President Lula (PT) flew over the affected areas. Finally, in São Sebastião, the president held a meeting with Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), governor of São Paulo, and Felipe Augusto (PSDB), mayor of the city.
Intense rains on the coast of São Paulo
