A good announcement was made last Wednesday (11) by the Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger, Wellington Dias, after meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) at Palácio do Planalto. The new benefit of R$ 150 for families with children up to six years old registered with Bolsa Família will be paid from March.

From March onwards, we have the payment of the “new Bolsa Família” plus R$ 150 per child up to 6 years old for eligible families“, highlighted Wellington Dias.

The Ministry is also restructuring the SUAS Network (Single Social Assistance System) and updating the Single Registry, together with the federative entities, with the aim of restructuring the Government's systems.

We are dialoguing and working with states, municipalities and various partners to reach an agreement to guarantee the broken Federative Pact and rebuild the SUAS network. At the same time, we will begin updating the Single Registry to provide more security and efficiency to social policy“, said the minister.

Update of the Federal Government's CadÚnico (Cadastro Único)

Through CadÚnico (Cadastro Único), the Federal Government identifies and characterizes low-income families in situations of social vulnerability to transfer social programs.

There are currently 40.7 million families registered with CadÚnico. “The registration update will certainly allow the dismissal of those who received Bolsa Família without meeting the requirements, people induced to register by the previous government“, added Wellington Dias.

In addition to updating and validating the Single Registry data, social assistance professionals from each municipality carried out an active search to identify beneficiaries who are not using the amounts, even though they are eligible for the programs.

We will also begin scheduling and an active search to register and hire people who are outside the program, many of whom are hungry, and who meet the requirements“, said Dias, revealing that President Lula continues to fulfill the government's social commitment to ratify an agenda in February.
