With the end of Carnival, good news will be announced for the beneficiaries of the Federal Government's value transfer programs. On Ash Wednesday, the 22nd, Bolsa Família payments for the month of February return. Beneficiaries with final NIS 6 receive the amount of R$ 600 and another installment of R$ 112 relating to the Gas Voucher.
But the news doesn't end there. President Lula confirmed on Wednesday, the 16th, a new value for the minimum wage from the month of May that will benefit 24 million INSS retirees. The national floor value is currently R$ 1,302, but will be increased to R$ 1,320 from May this year. The percentage increase will be 1.4%.
It is important to remember that for every R$ 1 increase in the minimum wage there is an increase of R$ 389.8 million in the Union's expenditure. Therefore, almost R$ 7 billion will be needed to cover this announced difference.
Furthermore, Lula also confirmed the return of the real increase at a minimum, with gains that will be above inflation from the year 2024 onwards.
Another change scheduled for March will be the increase in the value of Bolsa Família for a specific group of beneficiaries. The MDS (Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Combating Hunger) confirmed that in March, families who have children up to 6 years of age in their family group will receive an additional installment of R$ 150 per child.
The measure was still under analysis, as the government carried out a fine-tooth comb process to identify alleged fraud involving CadÚnico registrations. This happened due to the considerable increase in single-person families (families made up of just one person) close to the presidential election campaign in 2022.
With this, in addition to the minimum amount of R$ 600 and the bimonthly payment of 100% for a cylinder of cooking gas from Auxílio Brasil, it will now also be possible to receive an additional installment of R$ 150, limited for up to 2 children per family.
