Auxílio Brasil beneficiaries are complaining about undue or early discounts in the payment of the benefit in November, which is scheduled to start on the 17th and continue until the 30th of November. In short, there are complaints from people who did not request credit, but who have the installment discount scheduled.

There are also reports of beneficiaries who took out the loan, but were counting on the discount for the first installment only in December – as stated in the contract. There are many complaints, according to Paola de Carvalho, director of the Brazilian Basic Income Network. According to her, payment receipts indicate a discount worth R$ 160 this November, which surprised many people.

According to the Ministry of Citizenship, loans contracted between October 10th and November 1st will be deducted from the November Auxílio Brasil payroll. In addition, all beneficiaries must receive a notice on the statement that the reduction refers to the installment of the assigned credit.

Meanwhile, Caixa argues that the discounts comply with the endorsement made by the banks with Dataprev. Both the Ministry and Caixa justify that, according to the regulation, the first reduction will occur in the first month after the information is sent by the institutions.

If you received an improper discount on Auxílio Brasil, know that it is possible to dispute it. Beneficiaries can contact the institution from which the loan was taken out. Or, you can register a dispute on the website consumer.gov.br

If the beneficiary does not recognize the assigned credit, Caixa advises the person to contact the bank where the contract was made, for verification. The institution's information can be obtained from the Ministry of Citizenship, using the number 121. Using the same number, it is possible to make any complaints regarding the assigned loan.

If the loan contract was made at Caixa, you must go to a branch taking your CPF and an identification document with a photo.

The beginning of the release of the Auxílio Brasil loan was marked by many complaints about canceled loans, in addition to the delay in releasing the money. At the same time, there were complaints about additional fees being charged, in addition to errors caused by overload on Caixa's systems. 

Given all these errors, the credit line was suspended twice by the bank. At the moment, the payroll loan remains suspended by Caixa until November 14th.

According to Paola de Carvalho, from Rede Renda Básica Brasileira, there is great concern about the number of families that report that they did not receive the loan money and that they are receiving the rebate provided for in the statement.

In fact, the director is collecting the reports to decide how to act. One of the options is to call the Public Defender’s Office, “But it will take a year, a year and a half for people to be compensated. What worries me is this“.

And although the recommendation is to call 121 to make a complaint, Carvalho says that people are not receiving an answer. Going to the agency was also inefficient. “They tell you to look at the application or look for CRAS, which is absurd, as they are not the ones arranging the payment of the consignment.“. 

Finally, it is important to mention that the regulation of payroll loans was intended for the bank to make information very clear to customers about the conditions of the loan. However, Carvalho accuses that the reality is different: “It’s very confusing”, it says. “It should have been written that the benefit credit would be debited from that day onwards and none of that was done“, says Carvalho.
