About a month ago, the Federal Senate approved a measure that regulates the credit line for individuals and individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs). It was created by the government to encourage entrepreneurship and support small business owners in the country.
Microcredit from the Digital Microcredit Simplification Program for Entrepreneurs (SIM Digital) is available through the Caixa Tem application from Caixa Econômica Federal. Its conditions are exclusive and aim to facilitate access to credit for entrepreneurs outside the sight of large banks.
Digital SIM limits
Currently, credits are up to R$ 1,000 for individuals and up to R$ 3,000 for MEI. However, the text approved by the Chamber increases the limits to R$ 1.5 thousand and R$ 4.5 thousand, respectively.
The change in value still depends on the sanction of the President of the Republic, and is therefore not valid. In the meantime, the old limit values will continue to apply.
Digital SIM conditions through Caixa Tem
Confirm mentioned, Individuals can rent up to R$ 1,000 and MEI up to R$ 3,000, both for payment in up to 24 months. Interest rates are similar but vary by group:
Individuals: Interest rate from 1.95 per month;
Legal Entity (MEI): Interest rate starting at 1.99 per month.
For first-time customers, the Caixa Tem app contract is available in the Caixa Tem Credit option. MEI microentrepreneurs need to go to a Caixa branch to get the loan.
Credit will be released, even if negative, as long as the debt does not exceed R$ 3,000. In addition, the MEI must have served at least one year with the CNPJ before registering.
