Diesel has a price 14% above the value compared to the international market

A report released by the Brazilian Association of Fuel Importers (Abicom) this Monday, 8th, shows that the price of diesel in the Brazilian market is 14 times higher than the international market.

According to the agency, to achieve parity, according to the Import Parity Price (PPI) policy adopted by Petrobras, it would be necessary to reduce R$ 0.64 per liter of fuel.
For gasoline, the average delay is 8 and to reach parity the price must be reduced by R$ 0.28. The calculation to achieve price equalization includes the cost of purchasing and delivering diesel including transportation and port fees.
However, last Thursday, Petrobras announced a cut of R$ 0.20 in the price of fuel, a drop of 3.57. In a statement, the state-owned oil company informed that the average selling price of fuel to resellers will increase from R$ 5.61 to R$ 5.41 per liter.
