December birthdays will be able to request the FGTS birthday withdrawal from today, December 1st. The amount will be available for withdrawal until February 28, 2023.
The modality allows the employee to withdraw part of the balance from the FGTS (Service Time Guarantee Fund) account every year in the month of their birthday. The amount allowed for redemption is 50% of the values of active and inactive FGTS accounts at once, depending on the amount available in the fund.
Remembering that the birthday withdrawal modality is completely optional. If the employee prefers not to opt for withdrawal, it will continue in the standard automatic withdrawal-termination mode, the same when the worker is dismissed without just cause. Therefore, the worker has the right to make a full withdrawal from the FGTS account, with the right to a termination fine, when due.
How to opt for the birthday withdrawal?
Through the FGTS App, the worker who opts for the birthday withdrawal will be able to return to the withdrawal-termination modality, however there cannot be a contracted advance operation. However, the request will only be valid from the 1st day of the 25th month after the date of the return request.
The worker who has joined the modality can access the FGTS application in the “Digital Withdrawal” tab, consult the amounts released and request payment of the money, using their account to receive the funds, which can be from any banking institution, as long as it is from its ownership.
The employee who requests the withdrawal also has the option of carrying out the procedure on the FGTS website and also through Caixa's Internet Banking. There is no need to visit a bank branch.
FGTS anniversary withdrawal schedule in 2022
At the moment, the FGTS birthday withdrawal remains available to the group of people born in October and November, according to the schedule:
- Born in January – withdrawals from January 3rd to March 31st;
- Born in February – withdrawals from February 1st to April 29th;
- Born in March – withdrawals from March 2nd to May 31st;
- Born in April – withdrawals from April 1st to June 30th;
- Born in May – withdrawals from May 2nd to July 29th;
- Born in June – withdrawals from June 1st to August 31st;
- Born in July – withdrawals from July 1st to September 30th;
- Born in August – withdrawals from August 1st to October 31st;
- Born in September – withdrawals from September 1st to November 30th;
- Born in October – withdrawals from October 3rd to December 30th;
- Born in November – withdrawals from November 1st to January 31st, 2023;
- Born in December – withdrawals from December 1st to February 28th, 2023.
How long does it take for the money to be deposited into the account?
The birthday withdrawal amount is deposited into the employee's account on the 1st day of the month of their birthday and is available for withdrawal up to the following two months.
In cases of transferring Caixa resources to another bank account indicated by the beneficiary, the deadline for the money to be available in the account is up to 5 business days.
