Thousands of workers have not yet withdrawn the R$ 1,000 released by the government in 2022, according to Caixa. Now, in December 2022, the deadline for more than 10,000 workers to withdraw amounts of up to R$ 1,000, which refers to the extraordinary FGTS withdrawal, is ending.

According to Caixa Econômica Federal, around 45 million workers have already withdrawn their money, but millions of reais are still waiting to be redeemed.

The deadline for withdrawal will be December 15th, and, for those who want to check if there are extraordinary withdrawal amounts available for redemption, you can access the FGTS App, available for Android and iOS. After redeeming the money, the amounts will be available in Caixa Tem's Digital Social Savings within 15 days.

Deadline for withdrawal is December

Anyone who has doubts about the extraordinary withdrawal amounts can consult the Caixa Tem Social Digital account, the Caixa Econômica website or at Caixa branches.

Through the Caixa Tem application, citizens can move money by paying bills, making purchases at establishments that accept this type of transaction and even withdrawing the amount. Using the app, it is also possible to transfer funds to another financial institution, without any fees.

Withdrawals can be made at Caixa ATMs or at lottery outlets.

FGTS extraordinary withdrawal calendar

The extraordinary FGTS withdrawal began on April 20th and occurs according to the workers' birthday month. The maximum withdrawal amount is up to R$ 1 thousand per person, considering all active and inactive FGTS accounts.

The Digital Social Savings Account is automatically opened by Caixa in the employee's name. It is important to note that the FGTS amounts used as collateral for credit operations, such as early birthday withdrawals, are not available for extraordinary withdrawals.

The deadline for extraordinary withdrawals ends on December 15th and, according to Caixa, there is no provision for an extension to move the available amount. Whoever makes the withdrawal does not lose the amounts, which return to the employee's account in the Fund managed by Caixa. Furthermore, it is interesting to withdraw the amounts, considering that the FGTS yields only 3%, plus the TR at 1.5% per year. Thus, even savings yield more, currently around 8% per year
