Google launches Chromebooks focused on cloud gaming

Google launched this Tuesday (11) new Chromebooks focusing on the use of cloud gaming services. The models result in the company's partnership with different manufacturers.

Google launched this Tuesday (11) new Chromebooks focusing on the use of cloud gaming services. Firstly, the detail that draws attention is that each of the three models results in the company's partnership with different manufacturers. See the models that are coming to the market:

  • ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip;
  • Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook;
  • Acer Chromebook 516 GE.

Firstly, the Google laptop launched in partnership with ASUS is a convertible model. Its screen has Full HD resolution with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and has a backlit keyboard.

It is available in variants with 11th generation Intel processors: i3, i5 and i7. In addition, there are RAM options with 8GB and 16GB, and storage that can be purchased in 128 GB or 512 GB on SSD. The alliance with Lenovo, in turn, brought a product with a lower refresh rate: 120 Hz.

However, the resolution is higher: 2560 x 1600 and the notebook supports Wi-Fi 6E connection. The processor is also from Intel, but from the brand's 12th generation, in addition to 8GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage. The product's battery is 71Wh and promises a battery life of around 11 hours.

As for the Acer Chromebook 516 GE model, the proposal differs from the model launched in August this year, which focused on sustainability. Now it's a notebook focused on cloud gaming with a 16-inch IPS screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2560×1600 resolution.

The chip with which this notebook can be equipped is a Core i7 1260P or i5 1240P and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal SSD storage. The two previous models can now be found at North American retailers such as BestBuy and Walmart to play on GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming or Amazon Luna.
