The INSS begins payments of the 13th salary to pensioners and retirees this Thursday, May 25th. Payment, initially scheduled to begin only in August, was brought forward.

The advance in payments of the 13th INSS salary was expected, because in the last 2 years, mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the benefit installments had been paid in the 1st half of the year and in this year 2023 the advance was not foreseen .

However, in response to requests, President Lula signed a decree anticipating payments of the annual bonus, published in the Diário da União on May 5th.
