The INSS (National Social Security Institute) made available a consultation of the payment statement for the month of May, when payments of the 1st installment of the 13th salary begin for retirees, pensioners and beneficiaries of Social Security aid.
The amounts to be paid in May have already been released for consultation. According to the INSS, the credit statement will be made available to all beneficiaries and consultation can be carried out via the Meu INSS website or app (available for Android and iOS).
INSS 13th payments
In May, payments for policyholders earning up to the minimum wage (R$ 1,320) will begin on the 25th and continue until the 7th of June. The first beneficiaries to receive the amounts will be those who have the final digit of the Benefit Card 1 (digit that comes before the dash). For those who receive amounts above the national minimum, payments begin on the 1st and continue until the 7th of June.
In the first payment of the 13th INSS, discounts are not included, such as the IR (Income Tax) discount, for example. Payments for the second installment begin in June.
Who can receive the allowance?
According to the Government, 30 million beneficiaries will receive the amounts. Social Security insured persons and dependents who, during this year 2023, have received assistance due to temporary disability, accident assistance, retirement, death pension or imprisonment assistance can receive the 13th salary from the INSS.
In total, 62.6 billion will be paid to policyholders. In the last 2 years, INSS 13th payments were brought forward to the months of April and May. Usually, the Christmas bonus is paid in the second half of each year, between August and November.
The new minimum wage adjustment will increase the value of those who receive the minimum wage. INSS benefit payments in May will also be adjusted according to the new value (previously R$ 1,302 and readjusted to R$ 1,320). There are no changes to the value of the monthly installment passed on to policyholders who receive amounts higher than the minimum. The ceiling on benefits paid by the INSS will be maintained at R$ 7,507.49.
