Last Wednesday, the 11th, the INSS informed that it will conclude in January the remaining details for the regulation of the automatic Proof of Life 2023 process. The new modality was announced by the Institute at the beginning of 2023 and the beneficiaries must have access to the new system at the end of January.
With this, Proof of Life will no longer be the responsibility of the beneficiaries and will become the exclusive responsibility of the INSS. Due to the implementation of the system, there will be no blocking of benefits at this time, as the new method needs time to become standard. For beneficiaries who need to complete the INSS Life Proof, they will still not be able to receive their benefits during this period.
In a note, the organization stated that: “The regulations will provide more details on how the INSS will cross-check data and how the insured person should act if the Proof of Life is not done automatically.“
Proof of Life in 2023
Through the data collected by Prova de Vida, it will be confirmed whether or not the beneficiary carried out any action recorded in databases maintained by federal public bodies. Among the documents that can be used as Proof of Life are the passport, proof of voting, visits to the SUS and vaccination record. With this, the INSS system understands that the beneficiary is active and does not need to visit an INSS agency, as was done until then.
Compared with traditional methods, Proof of Life is preferable in automatic system. If it is not possible to automatically provide proof, beneficiaries will be notified to do so. preferably electronically.
Even though it is no longer mandatory, the Proof of Life can still be done in person at a bank branch or on the Meu INSS website as in previous years. But it is important to remember that the beneficiary does not need to look for an INSS agency to carry out the Proof of Life.
