Recently, the Federal Government launched the New Bolsa Família, a financial aid program for the poorest, at Palácio do Planalto. The event was attended by President Lula, Wellington Dias, Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger, and also by Rita Serrano, president of Caixa Econômica.
Among the new features, the Government will pay a fixed amount of R$ 600, plus an additional benefit for those with children up to 18 years of age. For those with children up to 6, the installment will be R$ 150 per child, with no limit on the number of recipients. For those who have children aged between 7 and 18, they will also receive an additional amount of R$ 50, with no limit on the number of recipients.
Thus, anyone who receives Bolsa Família and also has 3 children under the age of 6 in their family will have an additional installment of R$ 450, totaling R$ 1,050.00 per month.
Now, families made up of more children will receive the higher amount of Bolsa Família from March onwards. “Payment of the New Bolsa Família will be made on March 20th, with the additional installment”, said President Lula at the event.
New Bolsa Família
According to Wellington Dias, the Government must pay an amount based on the size of the families. Only in this way is it possible to guarantee a “fairer” income transfer. In addition, the conditions for the additional installment for children up to 6 years of age must return.
“The program will include a commitment of R$ 600, an additional installment of R$ 150 per child. There will be a rule that considers the per capita (per person) proportion, the size of each family so that we have more justice in the transfer of income“, explains Dias.
From then on, Lula's promise to pay an additional amount of R$ 150 for households with children up to 6 years old is confirmed. Furthermore, there will be an additional installment of R$ 50 per month for those who have children aged between 7 and 18 years.
Given this, the Government's objective is for the values to be integrated into the minimum portion of R$ 600 of Bolsa Família, so that beneficiary families receive more resources. In this way, a family with 4 children, for example, will receive a benefit above R$ 1,000.00.
However, the New Bolsa Família will no longer offer the award system for families with children and teenagers who get good grades and stand out in school games. This system was part of the old Auxílio Brasil, created during the administration of Jair Bolsonaro.
On the other hand, families who will receive Bolsa Família must follow some rules:
- Keep your children’s vaccination schedule up to date;
- Monitor children's weight through SUS;
- Successful enrollment and attendance at school;
- Monitoring pregnant women.
When will the Desenrola program be launched?
During the inauguration ceremony of the National Council for Food and Nutritional Security (Consea), Lula said that the Desenrola program is ready. Therefore, it should be announced next week.
Desenrola is a debt renegotiation program, which will focus on people earning up to 2 minimum wages. The model estimates financing for the payment of bank or non-bank debts, at a discount.
According to the Government, around 70 million people are in debt, with debts of R$ 300 billion. Of this total, 2/3 are non-bank debts.
Finally, on March 8, International Women's Day, the Government must present a bill for equal pay between men and women. According to the president, “We will definitively present the law that will guarantee that a woman will definitely receive the same salary as a man if she performs the same function as a man“.
