A new fine-tooth comb will be carried out for INSS benefits. According to the Ministry of Work and Pensions, disability benefits, including sick pay and disability benefits, are the focus of the fine-tooth comb.

The announcement of the new review was published in the Official Gazette of the Union on September 22nd and can be processed in relation to social security benefits, BPC (Continuous Payment Benefit) and other social security, assistance, labor and tax benefits. In this last modality, it was not detailed what specifically it will be.

Anyone who receives a benefit must pay attention to a possible recall, otherwise the service will be blocked on the next payment.

Who will be part of the INSS Review group?

Disability pensions and retirement benefits are reviewed when they have not been assessed by an expert for more than six months with no expected discharge or indication of rehabilitation for the insured person.

At BPC, beneficiaries who have been there for more than 2 years without any review will be analyzed with a fine-tooth comb.

It has not yet been announced who the beneficiaries will be summoned for the analysis, but those who receive notification from the INSS must schedule the examination. Failure to comply within the specified period will result in cancellation of the benefit. The verification program is valid for up to 180 days (average of 6 months).

The INSS medical examination queue

Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the INSS medical examination queue is at approximately 1 million consultations today. According to the ANMP (National Association of Medical Experts), experts who wish to participate in the program can receive an average of R$ 62 for each examination, in addition to existing exams, limited to up to 15 additional examinations per day. During collective work periods, it is possible to carry out up to 30 inspection inspections per day (R$ 1,860 per day).

The objective of the MTP with the fine-toothed comb is precisely to reduce the queue of expertise that has accumulated in recent years, when agencies were closed and there were staff strikes and a lack of specialist doctors.

Subpoena for the fine-tooth comb

If the beneficiary is notified, it will be necessary to present a document proving receipt and right to income and medical reports (signed by the professional registered with the CRM) and exams proving illness, accident or disability.

If the disease worsens, tests are needed to show progress so that benefits are not cut. The way in which the subpoenas will be issued has not yet been defined. Consultations on INSS benefits, reviews, appointments and other services can be made through the Meu INSS website or through the Dataprev INSS application.
