According to information from Caixa Econômica Federal, only R$561 million of the almost R$25 billion relating to PIS/PASEP quotas were reimbursed. Which represents 382,000 payments requested through the FGTS (Service Time Guarantee Fund) application. Payment is available through this channel as a way of unifying service.

PIS/PASEP quotas do not have the same function as salary bonuses, but refer to the payment of money that was retained in Caixa Econômica and Banco do Brasil accounts because the worker did not make the withdrawal. It applies to anyone who worked between 1971 and 1988 with a formal contract, whether as a public employee or in a private company.

According to data from Caixa to Valor Econômico, 340 thousand payments were made, worth R$493 million, until July 31 of this year. According to the bank, at least 10.6 million people are entitled to a refund, but have not requested a withdrawal. At the end of August, R$24.6 billion was still available.

In addition to workers who worked in the years mentioned, the heirs of those who died but did not receive the benefit will be able to collect the amounts. The application is also made in the FGTS application, but under the option “PIS/PASEP – Death of a worker”.

Redeem money on the FGTS App

To redeem the balance of your PIS/PASEP quota in the FGTS application, it is very simple, just log in to the system. At the time of registration, he must be informed of a bank account at any institution and the transfer is free.

  • Download the FGTS application and log in;
  • Select the message “You have available withdrawal”;
  • Go to “Request PIS/PASEP withdrawal”;
  • Check your data;
  • Confirm the withdrawal by providing your bank details.
