The forgotten PIS/Pasep values are still available to some workers. Few withdrawals were made of the R$ 24.6 billion remaining in the Social Integration Program and Civil Servant Assets Program quotas available for redemption

Since the migration of PIS/Pasep quotas to the Service Time Guarantee Fund (FGTS) due to MP nº 946/2020, Caixa Econômica Federal reported that 382 thousand payments were made, with only R$ 561 million of the total redeemed .

Available value of shares

At the end of August, Caixa reported that R$ 24.6 billion in PIS/Pasep quotas were available for withdrawal. According to the bank, there are still 10.6 million workers with amounts to be recovered.

It is worth remembering that after requesting to withdraw quotas, the amount can reach the employee's account within five business days.

The credit is accumulated in the individual account of the employee registered with PIS.

On average, the value of the shares is R$ 2.3 thousand, but this value may vary depending on the time the person worked between those years and the salary at the time.

How to withdraw PIS/PASEP quotas?

Withdrawal of PIS/PASEP quotas can be done through the FGTS App available for Android and iOS systems, and the employee can request that the amounts be deposited into an account at any financial institution or bank, at no additional cost.

Professionals who worked with a formal contract in the private or public sector between the periods of 1971 and 1988 and who did not withdraw their PIS/PASEP quotas are entitled to withdrawal. The full withdrawal can be made by the holder or, in the case of bankruptcy, by the beneficiaries.

Caixa emphasizes that the legal beneficiary of the deceased holder can access their own login on the FGTS App and request the withdrawal in the “My Withdrawals” option, after “Other Withdrawal Situations” and then in PIS/PASEP – Death of the worker.

Another option available for workers to make withdrawals is through the Citizen Card at lottery units or at Caixa Econômica self-service terminals.
