The year 2023 has arrived and with it a change of government in Brazil. One of the first payments that the Lula government will make this year is the PIS/PASEP bonus. With the new minimum wage value already in force (R$ 1,320), the PIS/PASEP payment schedule is now available and can be viewed below.

PIS (Social Integration Program) is an amount paid to workers who were employed by private companies, unlike PASEP (Public Servant Asset Formation Program), which is paid only to public servants.

The benefit was established in 1970 and it is the employer's responsibility to make deposits to the employee, which is deposited every month in the Workers' Support Fund (FAT). Registration to receive the benefit is not necessary, as as soon as the person has their first employment relationship, the PIS number is generated and the benefits are entered into that registration via company x government.

Who can receive PIS/PASEP 2023?

Workers who:

  • They received up to 2 minimum wages in the base year 2021;
  • They worked with a formal contract for a minimum period of 30 days in 2021;
  • They have been enrolled in the program for at least 5 years.

The company, together with the Federal Government, is responsible for information and payments proportional to the amounts worked.

PIS/PASEP schedule for 2023:

New release dates are released every year. PIS payment is made following the worker's month of birth and deposits are made by Caixa Econômica Federal. See the scheduled calendar below PIS for 2023:

  • Born in January and February: receive payment from February 15th;
  • Born in March and April: receive payment from March 15th;
  • Born in May and June: receive from April 17th;
  • Born in July and August: receive payment from May 15th;
  • Born in September and October: receive payment from June 15th;
  • Born in November and December: receive from July 17th.

Banco do Brasil is responsible for paying PASEP and is done according to the final registration number of each worker. See the scheduled dates of the PASEP for 2023:

  • End of registration 0: receive from February 15th;
  • End of registration 1: receive from March 15th;
  • End of registration 2 and 3: receive from April 17th;
  • End of registration 4 and 5: receive from May 15th;

Bonus value in 2023

The PIS/PASEP calculation is carried out according to the months worked in the base year, considering the minimum wage in force.

According to the new salary adjustment of R$ 1,320, the PIS will have a higher value and will be proportional to the time of activity with CLT in 2021, being:

  • 1 month worked – R$ 110;
  • 2 months worked – R$ 220;
  • 3 months worked – R$ 330;
  • 4 months worked – R$ 440;
  • 5 months worked – R$ 550;
  • 6 months worked – R$ 660;
  • 7 months worked – R$ 770;
  • 8 months worked – R$ 880;
  • 9 months worked – R$ 990;
  • 10 months worked – R$ 1,100;
  • 11 months worked – R$ 1,211;
