In 2023, approximately 23 million workers are receiving PIS PASEP, despite the one-year delay. The calendar continues to release salary bonuses for employees of private companies and public servants.

PIS PASEP is an annual benefit that can pay amounts equivalent to a minimum wage. In January 2023, based on former president Jair Bolsonaro's proposal, the national minimum value was adjusted to R$ 1,302.

However, with the change of government after the elections, the minimum wage will undergo a second adjustment in 2023. From May 1st, the national minimum wage will be R$ 1,320. But the question is: will PIS PASEP be adjusted to the new value?

From May 1st, the date on which Labor Day is celebrated, the PIS PASEP ceiling will be updated to the new minimum wage value. A group of 3.5 million workers will receive the salary bonus adjusted based on the new national minimum.

Who is entitled to the next batch of PIS PASEP?

To be entitled to receive PIS/PASEP, the worker must prove the right to the salary bonus in the reference year, which in this case is 2022. The eligibility rules have not changed in recent years and, therefore, it is necessary to meet the following criteria :

  • Be enrolled in PIS/PASEP programs for at least five years;
  • Have worked with a formal contract for at least 30 consecutive days or not;
  • Have received up to two minimum wages;
  • Have labor data duly informed and updated in the Annual Social Information List (Rais).

Many people only focus on the fact that they worked several months during the reporting year. However, they forget that you must have at least five years of employment, whether consecutive or not. Otherwise, PIS/PASEP will not be released.

Workers must also be aware of the standard registration period for PIS PASEP, which is five years. Only after this time will the worker be entitled to the first salary benefit, even if they already meet all other requirements.

What is the value of the next PIS/PASEP batch?

Check the schedule:

  • 1 month worked – R$ 109.00;
  • 2 months worked – R$ 217.00;
  • 3 months worked – R$ 326.00;
