During a press conference to launch the Você no Azul 2022 campaign in São Paulo, the president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Daniella Marques, said on Thursday (6) that the Auxílio Brasil consignment should be released between October 10th and 15th.

Beneficiaries will be able to use up to 40% of the benefit to pay the loan amount, the maximum term is 24 installments.

Daniella explained in an interview last Tuesday (4) that Caixa would only release the loan in the second half of the month. “We are waiting for some technical adjustments with the Federal Government together with the Ministry of Citizenship“, said Daniella.

The Auxílio Brasil loan

Last week, the Federal Government released the new rules for receiving Auxílio Brasil. Therefore, the maximum installment for the loan type is up to 24 installments, with the interest rate not exceeding 3.5% per month.

According to the government, there are already 60 financial institutions interested in offering the loan. After publication, there will still be a deadline for banks and institutions to launch the loan modality.

According to the rules, the maximum contracted value is 40% of the monthly benefit value. The value of R$ 400 is taken into account, which takes the value of the maximum installment to R$ 160.

After the announcement of the Auxílio Brasil grant, many experts in the field and institutions claim that the measure could harm the population that receives the social benefit.

The funds are generally used for the beneficiaries' basic expenses. With a discount of up to 40% of the benefit, only R$ 240 should be left to cover the family's food and other expenses.

For Daniella Marques, the loan will help beneficiaries pay off loans with higher interest rates, such as a revolving credit card, or invest in their own business.
