SERASA: See how long your name stays dirty in case of debt

A delay of days in paying a debt is enough to tarnish your name, but in practice it is not quite like that.
Dirty name on SERASA
The company can send the debtor's name to Serasa or SPC on the first day of the delay, but these entities will send a notification to the debtor so that he has the opportunity to pay off the debt before his name gets dirty.
The period between the agency's notification and rejection varies according to the state, on average it is 10 days, said manager Aline Maciel.
Additionally, companies wait a few days before they can send the name to credit protection agencies. The deadline depends on the company's internal policies.
After paying the debt, the Company has up to five working days to remove the consumer's name from the Serasas and SPCs databases.
