Caixa Econômica Federal announced that R$ 24.6 billion in PIS/Pasep quotas are available for payment. The values are the rights of more than 10.6 million workers who worked with a formal contract between 1971 and 1988.

Payment can be made upon presentation of identification documents. In the event of the holder's death, his heirs and relatives may withdraw the amounts.

End of the PIS/PASEP fund

Provisional Measure (MP) 946, launched in 2020, was responsible for the cancellation of the PIS/Pasep fund and the transfer of resources to the Settlement Fund (FGTS).

This means that the amount will be migrated to FGTS accounts in the name of the workers. As of 31 July this year, approximately 340,000 payments had been made, totaling R$ 943 million.

Request for withdrawals of PIS/PASEP quotas

Requests to withdraw PIS/Pasep quotas can be made through the FGTS application. See how to do it below:

  • Download the FGTS app, available for Android and iOS;
  • Click on “You have a withdrawal available”;
  • Then, go to “Request PIS/PASEP withdrawal” and choose the payment method between account or in-person credit;
  • After checking the data and selecting, click on “Confirm Withdrawal”;

Heir withdrawals can also be requested through the FGTS application. See how:

  • By installing the FGTS app, available for Android and iOS;
  • Choose the “My Withdrawals” option;
  • Once done, tap Other withdrawal situations
  • Then select PIS/PASEP – Death of worker;
  • Attach the necessary documents and confirm the request.

How to withdraw shares?

Withdrawals of PIS/Pasep quotas can be made at Caixa Econômica ATMs or at a Casas Lotéricas unit using your citizen card and password. It is worth noting that these options are available for amounts up to R$ 3,000.

For redemptions above R$ 3,000, simply go to any Caixa branch and present a government-issued photo ID, for example, ID and work card.

However, if the employee has already died, his dependents or heirs may receive the amount. To do this, simply go to a Caixa branch with the death certificate or inventory to withdraw the PIS/Pasep.
