Bolsa Família transfers in February are already being finalized for millions of Brazilian families. However, one group has received advance payments now and will also have advance deposits in March.

Wellington Dias, Minister of Social Development, confirmed on the 20th, Monday, that beneficiaries residing on the coast of São Paulo, hit by the rains, will have their deposits advanced and released on the same date, regardless of the final NIS number.

Dias mentioned that “To make it easier for families, payments in March will be unified, made on March 20th, for all families in affected municipalities and with an emergency and calamity decree”, he said. Payments for the month of February are also available to residents of these cities, regardless of the schedule.

In which cities will Bolsa Família be brought forward?

So far, there are 6 cities that have a public calamity decree in force. MDS highlighted that it is in constant contact with the municipalities and that these affected families will receive early benefits.

Residents of the cities of São Paulo who should receive Bolsa Família in advance in March (20th) are:

  • Bertioga;
  • Caraguatatuba;
  • Guarujá;
  • Beautiful island;
  • San Sebastian;
  • Ubatuba.

Additional installment in March

The value of Bolsa Família in February was around R$ 606.91. For the month of March, MDS intends to start payments of the additional installment of R$ 150 for families with children up to 6 years old. However, Lula (PT) reinforced that to continue receiving the installments, some criteria will be considered, such as:

  • Children must be enrolled in school and attend school;
  • Children must have their vaccination card up to date;
  • Pregnant women must undergo medical monitoring.

The installment values can reach R$ 900, if the family has more than one child under the age of 6 in their residence. By the beginning of March, the Government must inform all the details of the new Bolsa Família format.
