Still in the transition period from the old Auxílio Brasil to the new Bolsa Família program, which will be launched in March, beneficiaries of the income program can now consult the benefits calendar for the month of February.

Bolsa Família will be boosted with the additional portion of Vale-Gás and will have an average value of R$ 710 for around 6 million families that receive both benefits. For those who only receive Bolsa Família, the amount should remain at R$ 610 for February, even without paying the additional installment promised by Lula.

In January, the benefit reached 21.9 million families with an average ticket worth R$ 614.

Wellington Dias, minister of the portfolio, recently commented on the approval by the National Congress of the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) which guaranteed the value of R$ 600 from Bolsa Família this year. However, he stressed that the program will be “redesigned” to be fairer and will include an additional R$ 150 per child up to 6 years old only for those who are eligible.

The former governor of Piauí also stated that the Single Registry is undergoing a review and will provide more security and efficiency to the program that identifies low-income families. “We will only pay the benefit to those who, legally, based on social criteria, are entitled to it,” said the minister.

A type of active search will be carried out throughout the country in February by the municipal social assistance departments to include in CadÚnico those who are entitled to the benefit but have not yet received it.

The second round of payments in 2023, now with the value of Vale-Gás, will reach 21.9 million families from February 13th.

The aid for purchasing cooking gas will continue at the full value in 2023 and the installment is defined based on the average price of a 13kg LPG gas cylinder in the last 6 months. For the month of February, the Gás Valley is expected to have a value of R$ 110.

For those on the list of beneficiaries, deposits continue to take place in the last 10 business days of each month, following the final NIS number.

Thus, the payment of Gas Aid follows the same dates as Bolsa Família, which in February starts on the 13th and continues until the 28th. Due to the Carnival holiday, Caixa will interrupt deposits on the 20th and 21st of February and will resume payments on the 22nd.

For now, the Ministry of Development has not given any details about the launch of an official Bolsa Família application. Families can continue using the Auxílio Brasil App to check the installment amount, payment statement and other benefit details.
