On the 16th, last Tuesday, Sefaz-SP (São Paulo's Finance and Planning Secretariat) announced that R$ 36.9 million of the São Paulo Invoice was made available to those who participate in the program. These amounts correspond to purchases and donations of tax coupons made in January 2023.
Of the credits granted, R$ 16.8 million are for Individuals who requested the inclusion of their CPF in their invoices. Entities across the state will receive the amount of R$ 19.6 million, resources that can be used for investment purposes and improvements in their activities. Condominiums will benefit from R$ 19.3 thousand and Simples Nacional taxpayers will receive R$ 436.5 thousand.
With this latest release, the Secretariat of Finance and Planning already totals, in 2023, more than R$ 197 million in credits distributed to participants who are registered in the program.
Paulista Tax Invoice: How to transfer the amounts?
To transfer money to a current account or savings account, participants have two available alternatives: they can use the official Nota Fiscal Paulista app on their tablet or smartphone, providing their CPF/CNPJ number and registered password, and selecting the desired option; or you can also complete the process via the website. In both cases, the funds are deposited in the indicated account within a period of up to 20 days.
It is possible to access the Nota Fiscal Paulista website and check the draws and credit check. With the app, available in tablet or smartphone app stores, participants have greater convenience.
The amounts to be redeemed referring to the Nota Fiscal Paulista are available for a period of up to one year, counting from the date of release, and can be used at any time within the period. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the redemption deadline, as the amounts released in April 2022 expire this month and so on. The minimum amount for transfer is R$ 0.99.
The Nota Fiscal Paulista was established in 2007 as part of the São Paulo State Government's Fiscal Citizenship Incentive Program. Thus, the system allows participants to receive up to 30% of ICMS credit (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services) which is collected by commercial establishments when consumers provide their CPF or CNPJ. These credits can be used to pay IPVA or can be redeemed in cash.
In addition, consumers can choose to make donations of the tax document to entities registered in the program, which operate in the Social Assistance, health, education, animal protection or culture sectors. Currently, the Nota Fiscal Paulista has already refunded more than R$ 18 billion to program members, where R$ 16 billion is in credits and more than R$ 2 billion in prizes. The program also carried out 174 draws.
