In the coming days, the new format of the Bolsa Família program should be launched. As a campaign promise, the Government intends to pay an additional installment of R$ 150 to households with children up to 6 years old.

However, the Federal Government plans to pay an extra amount to families with more children and teenagers. The objective is for these amounts to be increased to a minimum portion of R$ 600, so that families with more members receive more resources to maintain their subsistence.

Plans for additional Bolsa Família

In an interview with GLOBO, Wellington Dias, Minister of Social Development, said that “In the per capita value, there is an increase again, per child aged 7 until they turn 18. We are agreeing on the amount, which will be in addition to the installment of R$ 150 per child up to 6 years old.

On the other hand, the new format should no longer reward families with children and teenagers who get good grades at school and excel in sports. This benefit was being paid in the former Auxílio Brasil, created by the government of Jair Bolsonaro.

Furthermore, there should no longer be a bonus for urban productive inclusion, a project that has not yet been implemented. The bonus promised by the Bolsonaro Government would be a portion of R$ 200 paid to beneficiaries of the social program who manage to get into a job with a formal contract.

Finally, Dias added that “The definition of per capita value with these particularities is what will allow us to once again have better social indicators. See that we have already reached the rate of 90% of enrolled children and adolescents and it has dropped to around 60%.

According to Minister Wellington Dias, the benefiting families will have to comply with health benefits. For example:

  • Keep your vaccination schedule up to date;
  • Monitor the child's weight;
  • Have your school registration up to date;
  • Successful school attendance;
  • Monitoring pregnant women.

In the same interview, Dias explained that “We are now working with SUAS (Sistema Único de Assistência Social) and education network in an effort to actively search for enrollments in schools throughout Brazil.”

Furthermore, Dias highlighted that several data must be included in CadÚnico, such as housing, drinking water, energy, internet, documentation, sport, culture and training.

But the priority of priorities is the new generations, so as not to lose anyone and open up opportunities for, with health and good education, to obtain a trade, a profession and have the chance to work in the public or private sector and entrepreneurship.

concludes Dias.

Identification of irregular registrations

For the PT government, the Auxílio Brasil model fragmented families and opened gaps for fraud. Such as beneficiaries who indicated that they live alone to increase the value of the family benefit.

Currently, more than 20 million families receive the social benefit. However, according to the Government, more than 2.5 million registrations show signs of irregularities.

Dias says each family will receive at least R$ 600, as was the case previously. However, to avoid problems, the ministry wants to ensure that the difference between families with more members and others with fewer, with only one child, for example, is a maximum of 4 times.

It is important to highlight that currently, the per capita difference is ten times or more. And it is precisely with this in mind that the Government is studying a way to change the additional portion of Bolsa Família.
