- Have received up to 2 minimum wages in 2021 (up to R$ 2,200 monthly);

How to check the PIS/PASEP allowance?
Employees can also check whether they are entitled to receive the benefit and the date on which they receive payment. See below:
Every employee has a PIS or PASEP number. In PIS, the number is the same as in NIS and NIT. Therefore, it is possible to find the numbers also in these documents:
- Work Card;
- FGTS extract;
- Citizen Card and Caixa Econômica Federal branch, therefore the ID and CPF (for PIS);
- Banco do Brasil branches, therefore the RG and CPF (for PASEP).
Through the National Register of Social Information (CNIS) website, it is also possible to obtain the PIS or PASEP number. In this case, the step by step is as follows:
- Visit the CNIS website;
- Afterwards, select the Citizen icon;
- In the top left corner, the “Registration” tab will appear. When you tap on it, the “Affiliate” option will be displayed, which you must also click on;
- Then, fill in the information requested by the page (full name, mother's name, date of birth and CPF);
- Soon after, when you tap Continue, a lilac strip will appear with the NIT number in red (This is your PIS or PASEP number).
What is PIS/PASEP?
Both terms refer to contributions paid by the private sector by the public sector. Both the PIS and PASEP bonus seek to better distribute income among employees who receive lower salaries.
O PIS is the acronym for social integration program and it is intended for employees in the private sector. The objective of PIS is to finance unemployment insurance, bonuses and participation in the revenue of private companies. Caixa Econômica Federal is responsible for paying these resources.
The acronym PASEP means Public Servant Heritage Training Program. The objective is the same as PIS. However, those responsible for depositing resources are public bodies and companies. Banco do Brasil is responsible for PASEP.
The two programs were created at different times and under different laws, however, in 1975, Complementary Law No. 26 united the two programs. And so, the PIS/PASEP fund was formed. Currently, the fund's resources are allocated to the FAT, which in turn pays unemployment insurance and salary bonuses.
In addition, FAT resources can also be used to fund BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) programs.
Can I still withdraw the 2022 PIS/PASEP?
PIS/PASEP resources are always available to employees until the last working day of the year. If the employee does not transfer the money, he or she will have to request the benefit in the following year's calendar.
Therefore, those who did not withdraw in 2022 can now do so from February 15th. Requests can be made via the app or in person at banks.
