Payment of the PIS/PASEP 2023 salary bonus began on February 15th for those who worked with a formal contract in 2021. The calendar expects payment until July 17th.
Approximately 23.6 million workers will be entitled to receive the amounts for the 2021 base year, according to the Ministry of Labor. A total of R$ 24.4 billion is available for payment of the PIS/PASEP allowance in 2023.
Check below who can receive the bonus in 2023 and until when the amounts will be available.
Who is entitled to receive the PIS/PASEP bonus?
Firstly, to be entitled to PIS/PASEP, the worker must be registered in the program or in the National Register of Social Information (CNIS) for at least 5 years, have worked at least 30 days with a formal contract in 2021 and be entitled to the available values.
It is important to highlight that it is also necessary to have received up to 2 monthly minimum wages in 2021 and to have been hired by employees who contributed to PIS/PASEP.
Domestic workers and workers employed by Individuals cannot receive the amounts.
Where can I check the PIS/PASEP allowance?
The consultation to find out if you are entitled to the benefit was made available from February 5th. Information such as amounts, dates and receipt banks can be consulted through the Digital Work Card App or through the Federal Government Portal. The withdrawal of amounts relating to PIS must be made by Caixa Econômica, and the withdrawal of amounts relating to PASEP must be made by Banco do Brasil.
How are values calculated?
The amounts of the PIS/PASEP allowance can vary from R$ 108.50 and R$ 1,302, depending on the months worked by the taxpayer. To calculate the value, simply divide the minimum wage value by 12, and then multiply by the number of months worked by the employee. After several discussions about increasing the minimum wage, the Federal Government's proposal did not go ahead and the remuneration continued at the values defined in December 2022
See below the PIS/PASEP table for 2023 with the readjusted values:
- 1 month worked – R$ 108.50;
- 2 months worked – R$ 236.00;
