Bolsa Família: Government launches additional payment for children aged 7 to 18

President Lula (PT) signed Provisional Measure 1,164/2023 on March 2, which created the new income transfer program, Bolsa Família. Therefore, in addition to the minimum value of R$ 600 per family, an increase will be offered to families with children up to 6 years of age, who will receive an additional R$ 150 per child.
What's new is the new additional amount of R$ 50 that will be passed on to children aged 7 to 18 who receive Bolsa Família. In addition, pregnant women will also be able to receive these R$ 50 monthly.
However, to receive these amounts, all groups must meet some requirements. According to the Government, on average, families in the program are made up of less than 3 members in this age range from 7 to 18. It is expected that around R$ 13.2 billion will be distributed to the department and 21.8 million families will benefit.
Conditions for young people between 7 and 18 years old
According to the Federal Government, families registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico) who already receive the benefit will be able to receive R$ 50 monthly.
Furthermore, these young people must be public school students, with a minimum school attendance of 75%. Under the new legislation, families must have a per capita income of up to R$ 218 per month. The Government predicts that, depending on the evolution of the program, a limit on income transfer will not be established. The Government seeks to eradicate extreme poverty in the country.
Who can receive the new Bolsa Família
In addition to the monthly per capita income of R$ 218, for a person to participate in the new Bolsa Família it is necessary that children have their National Vaccination Card up to date, attend school and that pregnant women undergo medical examinations for their health and the health of their child. baby.
Previously, in Auxílio Brasil, the conditions were not being required, only the monthly per capita income of R$ 210. All families must have their registrations updated in CadÚnico, and payments begin on March 20th.
Bolsa Família calendar for March
Payment of the new Bolsa Família in March 2023 begins on the 20th for beneficiaries with final NIS 1 and continues until the 31st, where the last group receives payment.
